Purely Personal Stuff

I do not believe that Al Gore invented the Internet or that "green" is always good
I do believe that Sears Craftsman tools make excellent birthday and Christmas gifts
I have no use for cellphones or pagers, and expect my students to turn them off in class!
A beer at night is great for your health, especially when watching the Bowflex girl on television
Did I mention that the Bowflex girl herself would make an excellent gift regardless of the occassion?!

My favorite Vette, a 6-speed, Polo Green '91 model purchased in California eight years ago.

I'm a Corvette "freak" and have owned, rebuilt and raced them for more than 40 years
I'm an FCC-licensed General Class Amateur Radio Operator and my Call Sign is KE5NPI
I don't care for buttermilk or fish and despise liver regardless of who cooked it!

Things that make for a great website...

When the Internet was in its infancy, many website developers felt that the only way to make a "so-so" website really great was to add a few eye-catching animations to it. Never mind that most of these animations had less to do with the content of the website than the "appearance" of it. One IT magazine reviewer even wrote that "...adding meaningless graphics to your website is no more effective than putting a bunch of dancing girls or a flaming bouncing ball on it." Regardless, having grown up in the days of Archie, Gopher and Pine, I felt obligated to add a few "meaningless" touches of my own to this website. Check 'em out...
